Cooper

ADOPTED!

Extended Pedigree (click here)- she is ApHC Eligable!

Cooper is an intelligent 3 y/o mare. She stands approx 14.3 hh and is a beautiful dun with frosting over her back and hips, she has dark points and a dorsal stripe! She has a pretty head, short back and strong shoulders and hindquarters. Coop is a foundation type appaloosa demonstrating the short mane and tail (though her tail is fairly thick and almost hock length - been chewed on by babies). This mare is by reg'd parents but her foal application was never turned in so she CAN be reg'd. We feel Cooper would make an excellent all-around horse, trail mount, games mount and would excel with natural horsemanship etc! She has not been started and is ready to be trained!  (**NOT for beginners or children, you must have experience with young/green horses). This sweet, beautiful gentleman is Ace.  He is an Arabian gelding, standing 14 hh and is 20 years old.  He is seeking a peaceful, loving retirement home to live out his life!  He gets along well with others, is good with children, an average keeper (requires regular senior care/maintenance but nothing special at this time).  Ace has good manners and is lovely to be around.

He is for adoption as a companion only but would be good at teaching leading, grooming and ground manners.

Peppermint Pattie

This cute, cute, cute little pony mare is loaded with personality!  She stands about 11 hh and is about 7 years old.  She is a true deep full chocolate in color.  She gets along well with others and has been around children (with supervision and kids that "know" horses).  We were told she was ridden/ponied/leadline a couple years ago but with a refresher should do well - would also be cute trained to drive a cart!

Desi

 Fill out a Horse Adoption Application

This gorgeous TWH mare is the older stout Plantation Style. She even resembles the foundation Morgan type. Quality quality mare!

"Desi" is 10 yrs old and 14.3 hh. She is very stout build, pretty head, goes barefoot, clean solid legs/bone structure. She is Reg'd (pedigree at: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/design+of+rose).

She is a TRAIL HORSE! Good with traffic too. Likes to get out and see something new. She has a forward walk and nice smooth ground covering gait...We ride her in just a plain broken Myler Snaffle bit - Desi is responsive and sensitive and takes a light handed rider. She can also ride bitless bridles too.

This sweet mare is awesome on the ground! Excellent manners, good for vet/farrier/loading, grooming/tacking etc. Loads well, stands tied patiently etc. Just lovely around the barn!

Desi gets frustrated if worked too much in an arena or pen...she needs to be out on the trails and investigating new places. She would be a fantastic ENDURANCE mount. She is not hyper! Just likes to see something new.

She is naturally gaited - is just a tad rusty and can occasionally pace a tad but with just a lil touch up she has a nice strong even 4-beat gait!

**ONLY for Adv Intermediate + Level Rider! She can test a rider at first to see what type of person they are. Desi is sensitive and responsive, forward not hyper but takes a confident level headed rider. If you are that then she is the sweetest smoothest nicest mare and you could have a lasting relationship.

Adoption Fee:  $700 donation requested (this will be used directly toward providing for the other rescues on the farm!)

Kieta

Fill out a Horse Adoption Application

Feb 2012 Update
Lets find Kieta her FOREVER HOME!  She is ready to be that special horse you love!  Please inquire about being a foster or adoptive home for Kieta!  Currently she is being adopted as a companion only at this time...she will require some chiropractic care to have any future riding possibilities.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kieta is a gorgeous deep bay QuarterHorse x Mare, she stands approx 14.1 hh and is about 10 years old.  This girl loves to show off in the pasture and gets along well with others.  Kieta goes barefoot and is very good for the farrier and vet, loading, tying, leading etc.  Keita does have a history of neglect and can sometimes be hard to catch in the field as she doesn't want to taken away from her friends and lush grass!  But who can blame her - if you take a treat or a little grain, she comes up easy.  For someone who has a little horse knowledge she is respectable and has good manners on the ground however...since she's very smart she can tell a beginner and will quickly try to get by with things and can become a bit pushy on the ground so would be best suited with an intermediate + horseperson.  At this time Kieta is being adopted as a companion only, if you put any weight (a saddle or a rider) on her back she gets very sore). If not ridden she is very comfortable and doesn't require any care.  There is a possibilty that Keita could be ridden in the future (has a past as a trail horse), but she would need some equine chiropractic sessions first to help fix her back and given time to rehab before that possibitily is seen.  She is an easy keeper and UTD on vaccines, coggins, farrier and deworming!  If you are interested in offering a foster or adoptive home to Keita please contact us!  **Foster homes can receive a tax deduction for any direct costs spent on the foster horse - such as chiropractic care - so if you might be interested in taking her on as a foster and getting her the chriopractic care to see if she could be ridden in the future and offer Kieta a bright new life opportunity that would be fanctastic!**
Adoption Fee $  - donation requested at time of adoption
*** If you have an interest in being a foster home for Kieta please contact us as well***
Pocahontas
ADOPTED!
Awww - this sweet ole' gal deserves a easy and love filled retirement!  She is a been there - done that type of horse, rides any way you like or bareback with a halter.  She has clean legs, strong appy hooves, clear eyes - just requires some TLC, Senior feed and regular care!  This girl has a nice forward walk and easy trot.  She rides best in a hackmore and neck reins well.  She is sound but due to her age would be best suited for leisure riding walk/jog, not long rough trails.  Is good with traffic and hasn't shown any vices at all.  She is a great companion, has good manners and sweet disposition.  Pocahontas is about 14-14.1 hh and is probably in her 20's - she is a POA Mare.  Though she is a senior, she doesn't know it... and though she has good manners she is still a bit forward so best suited for adv. beginner + level rider.  Would be good for petite older woman seeking an experienced leisure mount.
Adoption Fee: $ donation requested
