In Loving Memory of CHEIF

He was only here at RCAR for a few months but was extremely special to us with his golden heart and gentleman ways!  We were blessed by his presence and greatful that we were able to offer Cheif the peaceful and relaxing retirement he so deserved.

Cheif passed away quietly of his own on a gorgeous starry night of November 27th 2007.  We will miss his nicker.

Thank you to all who made Cheif's lasts days on this earth full of love and happiness!

Handsome Ole' Gentleman

With the loss of his eyesight, he now relies on people for total care and affection.

Cheif is the kindest, gentlest soul around.  Very sweet and trusting.  He is almost completely blind in both eyes.  Each eye has atrophied and is smaller than a normal eye.

Cheif is living out his retirement here at RCAR, he is very happy and comfortable in his home. 

He has a private paddock as he is afraid of other horses since he cannot read/see their body language.

Cheif was being advertised for sale as a bombproof-dead quiet-trail horse.....yeah he's dead quiet - he can't even find his food and water buckets without assistance!  It's amazing what some people will say.....
